The County’s options for remedying the flooding conditions in the area were limited as there is no piped underground drainage system present there. So instead of installing a new, costly, conventional piped storm drainage system, the County engineers opted for a porous pavement system which allows stormwater to infiltrate naturally back into the surrounding soils.
